About Broken Branches
This film consists of 3 epsodes. 1st episode 'Father'-After Korean War, Myeong-Hee's mother, who lost her husband, becomes Park Han-Seob's second wife. Though Han-Seob has third wife Jong-Ki's mother, but he has her at his beck like a cow since she can't bear a baby. Han-Seob's only son Jeong-Ku and his daughters give troubles to Myeong-Hee's mother and set up love-and-hatred relationship making up a party with Jon-Ki's mother because they are afraid whether Myeong-Hee's mother will have a son. 2nd episode 'Hope'-Growing up with economic development, Jeong-Min and Mi-Ran turn their eyes to others' life. But they continuously experience scars of twisted family, politics, society and culture that are short of standard compare to economic growth while Mi-Ran falls in student activity and Jeong-Min indulges in homosexuality. 3rd episode 'Family'-History of family leaves him loneliness. Because he can't belong to any members of his family. Since his generation grows up without father's existence, he misses father's love. So he chooses homosexuality naturally but there follows various social problems.
