About Bokunchi-My House
7-year-old Nita lives with his older brother Itta in a broken-down house at the edge of a bleak port town. Their mother, who had walked out on them 3 years ago, suddenly shows up with a new ‘older sister’, and then she is gone again. Everyone in Nita’s town is pathetically unlucky, but somehow they survive on their pluck and their wits. Sakamoto humorously portrays the lives of the two brothers, careening between joy and misery, growing up wily and strong.
