This K-drama depicts a love story about two men and one woman. Joon Young (Kwon Sang Woo), the musically-gifted only child of Seo Hing Ja, a shrewish woman who sells liquor to American soldiers, meets Hye In (Kim Hee Sun), a blind girl, and become childhood sweethearts, supporting each other in their harsh growing-up years. Although the latter can¡¯t see, she has both intelligence and an excellent voice. Hye In later migrates to the US with her American foster father and meets Gun Woo (Yeon Jung Hoon), Joon Young's friend and the son of a rich entrepreneur. The latter is the epitome of charm, a born leader who also enjoys sports such as archery, football, etc. The story comes to a crux when composer Joon Young, singer Hye In, and music producer Gun Woo all meet....
If love is blind, what happens when you open your eyes?
MBC drama Sad Love Story (a.k.a. Forever and Ever and Sad Sonata) brings alive an innocent first love lost in the complications of life. Starring Korean drama heavyweights Kwon Sang Woo (Stairway to Heaven), Kim Hee Sun (Goodbye My Love), and Yun Jung Hoon (Yellow Handkerchief), Sad Love Story is a heartbreakingly beautiful romance that defies sight and sound. Set in both the U.S. and Korea, the series broke records with a production cost of 7 billion won, making it one of the grandest modern dramas to come out of Korea.
From the moment they meet, Joon-Young (Kwon Sang-Woo, Stairway to Heaven) and the blind Hae-In (Kim Hee-Sun, Goodbye My Love, Tomato) share an instant connection. Young and naive, they believe that nothing can change their love.
Life, however, pulls them in opposite directions. Joon-Young is sent to Seoul, while Hae-In moves to America. Misleadingly informed that Joon-Young is dead, Hae-In struggles to begin a new life alone. Years later, Hae-In returns to Korea as a singer happily engaged to her producer Gun-Woo (Yeon Jung-Hoon, Yellow Handkerchief). When love is no longer simple and blind, can Hae-In and Joon-Young still find their way back to each other?
