About Five People
When her husband dies fighting for the independence in 1938, the old woman Kotji passes herself off as a beggar waiting for the liberation. The beggar Man-Seok puts funds for liberation in the food through Mr. Choi and sends it to Manchuria. When the Japanese police tortures him, he kills himself. Because of this case, there is a mopping-Wup operation of beggar. When the Japanese police arrests Mr. Choi, he leaves his last words to donate his gold bar. The beggars including Kotji leave for Manchuria with his gold bar, but the Japanese police kill them all. The only survivor, Dangi, crosses over the River Abrok.
