About Resistance
After 1945 Liberation, Chu Young-Bok enters voluntarily Nanam Security Office Training School, which belonged to North Korean Army. Then, he is quickly promoted in the army as an interpreter of Russian language. At that time, a horrible politics prevails throughout North Korea based on one's background. He also worries about his promotion because his younger sister has already crossed over the border to South Korea, but is faithful in the army to be promoted to the headquarters of North Korean Army. When In-Suk, or his lover is blamed to be anti communist by the communist party because she is a Catholi, he gives up the love for the sake of his promotion and participates in 1950-1953 Korean War. After UN Army's Inchon Landing Operation in 1950, a confidential document of the headquarter, which retreats from the front line, discloses that his younger sister has defected to South Korea and his maternal uncle works for a newspaper company in South Korea. Thus, he knows that he has been classified to be a person of anti communist in spite of his faithfulness for the communist party, so that he resists the communist party.
