About Abbas Kiarostami
Born in Tehran in 1940, he graduated from the College of Fine Arts, and then started graphic work includeing film credit designs. and film advertisement. He started his collaboration with the Insititute for the Intellectual Development of Chidren and Young Adults in 1970 and directed a short film Bread and Alley. He made his first feature film The Traveller in 1974. Taste of Cherry won the Palme d¡¯Or at Cannes in 1997. His films have been shown twice at PIFF
